Are you passionate about the Arts and Entertainment sector?

Join Ipswich Borough Council’s Arts & Entertainment service as an apprentice! Based across three iconic venues – the Regent Theatre, Corn Exchange, and Town Hall – you’ll immerse yourself in the world of theatre while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Day to day

You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of all three of our venues. This diverse position encompasses customer service, front of house management, bar and cellar operations, health & safety compliance, administration, and more within IBC’s theatre and events services.

Your journey with us will culminate in using these acquired skills to confidently and successfully manage a show or event as the Duty Officer.

This apprenticeship requires flexibility, as you’ll be working evenings and weekends based on a rotating schedule. Hours may vary depending on our event calendar.

Please note that this role involves serving and selling alcohol, so the successful candidate must be comfortable with this responsibility.

Entry requirements

You will have 5 GCSE’s grades A* – C including English & Maths (2017 grade 4 or above).

Personal skills and qualities

  • You will have good written and oral communication skills, IT skills, be well organised and be able to work evenings and weekends when required.
  • Health and Safety awareness is essential to the role.
