A drilling engineer will plan and cost drilling activities, they will be involved from initial well design through to testing, drilling and decommissioning. Drilling Engineers can be employed onshore and offshore and will work with other professionals such as Geologists and Geoscientists to monitor the drilling progress and ensure the protection of the environment.
Degree in chemical, civil, mechanical, mineral or marine engineering or a degree in geology or natural sciences or any other relevant subject.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a good understanding of geology, good numeracy and IT skills and the ability to work under pressure
