Careers

Our Team

Our team of 175 blends a combination of experienced wisdom with youthful enthusiasm.

Over 80% of our senior management team has been promoted internally including our Service Director, originally employed as an apprentice mechanic. The remaining staff injected the new blood that is essential for an ever expanding organisation.

Chassis Cab has a policy of taking on new apprentices annually and implements a retention scheme to encourage these apprentices to remain with the Company until at least their 25th birthday.

Are you "Made for DAF"?

If you’re up for technical challenges and are looking for a rewarding career with a company that is market leading in its sector then you could be Made for DAF. We are looking for talented people from across the automotive industry and beyond, to join us at the UK’s largest truck manufacturer. With more DAF trucks on the road than any other brand, and the UK’s largest network of dealers to support them, we are looking for technicians to join our nationwide team. Every truck needs necessary maintenance, and at DAF we’re proud to say that we not only provide the best trucks on the market, but also the best aftersales support and care. That’s where you could fit in.

At your DAF Dealer you will work with the most advanced workshop systems along with the latest modern techniques to investigate, diagnose and fix trucks. Are you looking for something more engaging where you take responsibility for your own work? As a DAF Technician you get the freedom to determine how the trucks are maintained and repaired. You will be part of the largest team in the UK with great colleagues across different backgrounds.

With industry leading training, from DAF’s award winning apprenticeship scheme, to in depth training programmes for new and existing DAF technicians, you will be taught new skills and develop the knowledge that is essential to keeping goods moving.

If you understand that supporting every supermarket supply chain, and online distribution centre, every food producer and every hospital, are the technicians that keep our trucks on the road and delivering, then you could be "Made for DAF".

DAF Apprentice Programme

The Career

DAF’s Technicians are part of a highly skilled workforce that is committed to quality. The DAF Trucks National Dealer Apprentice Programme gives Apprentices the chance to work on some of the most modern, sophisticated trucks on the road. And it’s not just a job, it’s the first step in a career that gives them the opportunity to advance, succeed and fulfil their ambitions in the motor industry.

The Challenge

The DAF Trucks National Dealer Apprentice Programme is a Government approved ‘traditional’ Scheme that combines hands-on workshop training with block release for college training and study. Not only will you be trained to the standards set by the Sector Skills Council for the Motor Industry, the Apprenticeship also leads to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair - a nationally recognised qualification.

The Experience

Apprentices are employed with our dealership where they work alongside qualified Technicians. Regular visits will be made by the Programme Assessor to ensure that training is effective, progress is satisfactory and that the Apprentice is actually enjoying the work. DAF Apprentices will be permanently employed by us with recognised terms and conditions of employment.

The Knowledge and Qualification

The practical skills and hands-on experience will be gained in our fully equipped dealer workshop, whilst the training and knowledge needed to support will come through the DAF Trucks Centre of Learning at City of Bristol College. On course completion Apprentices will be recognised with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair which will include VCQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
