The focus of this placement is to assist with the IT support of staff, development, improvement, and documentation of the current company infrastructure. You will gain experience of, and be supported to assist with, the following tasks:
IT Support of all lab and home working staff.
Maintenance and improvement of Ubuntu server environment used by the lab for analysis.
Onsite Network maintenance.
IT security (anti-virus, email and web) which may include training for staff on good practices.
Updating documentation on IT policies
Windows server Active Directory and office 365
SharePoint 365 online.
Equipment Audit, setup and deployment
General Admin tasks to keep site computers secure and up to date.
Maintenance of data archiving practices.
Intranet. Apache on Ubuntu (certificates and security)
Maintaining and updating documentation as required.
The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of networking, Windows, Windows Server and/or Ubuntu (Linux). With the ability to independently research any task given. Accuracy and preparation are essential when testing in a live environment. Followed up by concise documentation of any changes or problems solved. Knowledge of SharePoint will be useful.
