The role is to provide a front line customer service both face to face, in writing and on the telephone in order to:
Provide accurate and up to date information about all types of courses being offered both in the centre and across other college locations.
Answer general enquiries.
Take and pass on messages on behalf of visiting tutors and students.
Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of all activities being undertaken in the centre on a daily basis, including room allocation and utilisation.
Provide support for enrolment by checking daily reports, following up on expressions of interest, and chasing missing information to ensure a smooth enrolment process.
Attend induction events for new students, helping student’s complete enrolment forms and liaising with tutors. This will involve occasional evening work with TOIL given.
Monitor attendance of students on courses, supporting with registers, following up non-attendance and reporting to tutors and programme managers in a timely manner to support retention.
Supporting on-programme progress for online courses and those where students do not attend the centre.
Support administration duties required for exams, to include:
Preparation and setting up of exam sessions, including paperwork.
Monitoring attendance and punctuality of students.
Sending out certificates post exam.
Collect data on progression, destination and student perceptions through surveys and reporting.
Contribute to the College’s marketing activity including updating displays around the centre, ensuring course information sheets are up to date and accurate, and participating at open events.
Participate in meetings, planning activities and staff development.
Maintain stationery as required.
Maintain confidential information under Data Protection Act 1988.
Contribute to the promotion and monitoring of equality and diversity across the College.
Be responsible for own health and safety at work and comply with the College’s health and safety policy at all times.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of post as required by the line manager.
Undertake any other duties as directed by the Principal or by delegated authority.
