The role of embroiderer is to decorate garments with embroidered designs on a commercial 8 head automatic embroidery machine in line with production standards on quality and production. The operator will be creating quality garments for the promotional industry and work wear and learning skills in various garment decoration methods.
To be able to carry out the role the persons will need to be target driven and able to follow and complete accurately the works orders, which will have paperwork and PDF visuals. This will require the matching of product codes, physical positions of the embroidery, the colour of the cottons and quantities.
The individual will need to be dextrous due to threading of cottons and through tension controllers and needles on the machinery and have organisational skills to plan out the day due to their production schedule. This will also be relevant to framing up of garments where the Embroidery sits within the process.
The role requires the individual to be organised, methodical and accurate in the counting and recording of stock supplied through goods in against the works orders and the management of produced goods. It will require manual handling of boxes which are approx. 10Kg. It will require basic IT skills such as Microsoft 365, predominately Excel spreadsheet for production schedules and Teams.
The Embroiderer will report to the production co-ordinator and will need to communicate with the packing team and Goods in departments on a day to day basis with good communication skills.
A strong desire for ‘clean as you go’ in the work area and an organisational methodology is required for best practice and execution of the role.
