The aim of this role is to assist the grounds maintenance team in designing and creating a new childrens allotment/garden within Pinewoods Holiday Park for the customers who have their own caravan holiday home at the park. The aim is to provide a space where children can learn about where their food comes from and the important roles plants and flowers play in providing habitats to insect and animals. Pinewoods holds the Gold accolade in The David Bellamy Conservation scheme and this development would feed into the overall schemes ambition. The role is supported through training at the Holkham Walled Garden with the skilled horticulturist and to put in to practice these learnings at Pinewoods. The allotment/garden will be place where these skills can be tested.
This role involves working closely with other members of teams across the Estate. The role is mentored by the grounds maintenance lead role.
Working with the grounds maintenance and warden team in designing and developing a childrens allotment. The role will also include caring for the existing maintenance and cultivation of Pinewoods grounds.
The successful candidate will learn how to use and maintain hand tools and basic light machinery; how to use and maintain mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers and how to ensure that all equipment and machinery are kept secure, safe and clean including oil level checks and checking for damage.
