This role is based at the Cambridge IVF Clinic which is located at Kefford House in Trumpington. It is a service run by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post holder will assist with the day to day patient support function of the IVF Clinic, including but not limited to meeting and greeting patients, taking telephone messages, acting as a chaperone.
Correctly recording patient details on Infertility Database including the scanning of paper correspondence.
Assisting with designated duties within the clinical setting as instructed by the nurse in charge.
To assist the department in providing support to deliver safe, kind and excellent patient experience.
To greet patients, relatives and other visitors to the Clinic in a courteous manner.
To support clinical staff to orientate patients and relatives to the Clinic environment and facilities.
With guidance from clinical staff, provide companionship to patients whilst in the clinic.
To inform clinical staff of any concerns or information requirements patients or relatives have regarding their care or treatment.
To distribute and collect patient surveys.
To ensure that beverages are served to patients as specified and to provide supplementary beverages to patients as directed.
To maintain privacy and dignity at all times.
To observe for signs of discomfort and report to registered nurse caring for the patient.
To assist in cleaning equipment before it goes back into the cupboard and that it is plugged in.
To assist nursing staff in bed making and cleaning and replacing equipment of bed area on discharge of patient.
To assist in the collection and delivery of equipment, checking against delivery notes and orders.
To assist in the collection and delivery of medication and drug charts from Pharmacy as appropriate.
To undertake duties within the department to ensure a safe, clean and sympathetic environment for patients, staff and visitors.
To assist the colleagues with general administrative tasks.
To answer the telephone in an appropriate manner and take and relay messages correctly.
Assist with cleaning cubicles and re-making patient beds in recovery.
Carry out admin duties such as helping with printing, answering the phone, recording patient arrivals and departures as necessary.
