To run shift and deputise for the Restaurant Manager in their absence ensuring the food and beverage service operation runs to the required standard in all aspects.
Write duty list for employees on shift, allocating and delegating all tasks and confirm daily specials with the kitchen and brief all staff, ensuring that all employees are aware of special guest requirements, birthdays, allergies etc. Welcome all guests and ensure pre-dinner drinks are offered and monitor order times, engaging customers to make them aware of any waiting times. Walk the floor continually ensuring guests are served, check backs are completed, items are cleared, and areas re-laid to standard. Check items are billed correctly and when cashing up ensure all cash, card and other transactions balance. If any discrepancies are found investigate and correct. To correctly use an EPOS system, with capability to balance a shift and resolve any queries or issues by the end of the shift.
Deal with all guest queries and requests or complaints professionally and efficiently and log all feedback. Check stock levels for bar and restaurant and places orders when necessary and maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment. Be positively engaged in training for both yourself and your team so that service standards, efficiencies and confidence can grow and help colleagues should they require assistance and treat all colleagues with respect.
