The Assistant Rehabilitation Support Worker, ARSW, would be working in the rehabilitation day centre supporting clients who have sustained an acquired brain injury, via stroke, encephalitis or road traffic accident.
Job Responsibilities To assist the team with the running of the centre which would include planning for activities and group sessions such as woodwork, art, carting, cogwheel’s, physical activity, cooking etc.
Assisting with making drinks, washing up, tidying away and cleaning.
The ARSW would be there to support the team with enabling the clients to be as independent as possible and provide appropriate information, opportunity, training and support.
The ARSW would be there to provide some 1-2-1 support to certain clients who need it, in whatever activity or session that they are doing, this may include eating, drinking, writing, typing or assistance to mobilise, this could be by pushing a wheelchair, assistance to walk or helping up from a chair.
Liaise and coordinate with other team members to provide a cohesive, high quality service.
To maintain all appropriate equipment, records and returns as may be deemed necessary.
To encourage and maintain professional standards within the operational premises.
Assist in health and safety assessments and participate in fire drills and audits.
Where necessary support other members of Staff and Volunteers.
