Each trainee will work under the supervision of one of our experienced Kitchen Cooks at each of our 4 locations. The trainee will gain knowledge of food hygiene and will have to complete a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification. They will assist in preparing new menus and creating choice and variety in food as well as costing of menus and understanding of nutritional values in food. They will prepare and understand the dietary needs of individuals such as diabetics, pureed requirements etc. Candidates will assist the cook in the kitchen to prepare and serve all meals as well as understand hydration and preparing of hot and cold beverages for the residents.
In order to understand the social care sector, the company and our residents, all trainees will be given the opportunity to qualify on at least 20 certified courses during the period of their training which include: moving and handling, infection control, dementia, safeguarding of adults and children, pressure sores etc.
