The role is varied and will be a combination of specific daily duties, projects and tasks being allocated as the need arises.
Daily support of the school office – spending a period of time each day undertaking various tasks as requested such as taking messages, answering the gate, collecting information from the classrooms. Working with the office team on monitoring resources within school, checking orders received and storing as appropriate. Working independently on projects gathering information for audits and organising inventories.
This role will also include supporting the classroom teams spending time in each year group supporting them with operational tasks. There will be a timetable to spend in each year group assisting them as directed. This may include helping with administrative tasks, display boards and organisation of the learning environment. Supporting the class teachers with preparation of resources. This may also involve being an extra pair of hands working with the children e.g. when the children are sewing or doing claywork. To accompany teachers and pupils on educational visits. 1:1 reading with children.
The role will also include support with operational activities for the whole school such organising and monitoring IT equipment, ensuring that items are kept charged and updated. Supporting children who find break time and lunchtime challenging. Monitoring stocks of first aid items throughout the school. Organisation of resources in the staff room, ensuring forms are available, updating notice boards etc. Daily distribution of milk and fruit for KS1.
