To assist the planning team by providing support across a range of work tasks relating to the delivery of the statutory town planning function.
The placement will work under guidance from a number of staff in the planning team. Training will be provided and the placement will be expected to carry out a range of tasks, including:
Administration work including checking documents and entering information onto a computerised system.
Receiving and uploading documents and information to the computerised system and website.
Generating and sending correspondence, including by email.
Assisting planning policy officer with survey and information gathering work to support the forward plan.
Investigating and checking the planning history of properties and sites.
Responding to simple enquiries about planning permissions.
Assisting the planning enforcement officer with condition monitoring.
The work will be mainly office based, but there will be opportunities to go on site with members of the planning team.
Arranging your own transport to the Broads Authority head office in Norwich will be required. Having a valid UK driving licence will be helpful, but is not essential.
