As Travel Editor, you will be writing regular content covering a range of travel topics including reviews, places, tips, news and more. You will research and conduct interviews with explorers, authors, photographers seeking out compelling stories. If you love travel, culture and history and have a passion and talent to write then this job is for you! This fast-paced and home-based role will see you researching and writing about all things travel related, populating our website with more features, helping to educate and entertain our readers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Research and write travel related website features.
Contact and liaise with explorers, authors, photographers and more.
Write compelling, interesting and informative articles.
Negotiate with influencers and businesses to secure social shares.
Follow up with external management to ensure the social shares take place.
Source images ensuring we have copyright usage permission.
Use a selection of royalty free stock image sites if required.
Prepare articles ready to be published on the backend of our website.
Create grabbing titles, and check the article is SEO friendly (training provided).
Create engaging and platform tailored social media copy.
Work alongside the Marketing Executive and your Duty Manager to schedule this content, publish and market it.
As a part of the publishing process you will learn about publishing best practice, SEO (search engine optimisation) and how to create grabbing copy.
You will be a part of a small creative team and working closely alongside management with regular Zoom meetings.
