The Pines Primary School project team have been building on our growing partnership with West Suffolk College by inviting students to learn about careers on site.
30 BTEC Level 3 students from their Construction and Built Environment course visited site to learn about the project and undertake a series of engineering tasks on the developing playing field.
Ben Coleman took one group around the the scheme, explaining all the different trades and how they have interlinked on the project, whilst Jeremy Ling hosted a session on the school field MUGA area, giving the students the opportunity to try some setting out activities with his state-of-the-art kit.
"This is brilliant - you can teach them almost everything in the classroom but there's nothing like learning on a live site. There's things here you simply can't teach! It'd be the most fantastic lesson ever, if you could box this up and bring it to the classroom!"
- Wayne Scase, Lecturer, West Suffolk College
