Fletcher Thompson are a firm of Chartered Accountants offering accountancy and tax services to individuals and smaller owner managed businesses. The current team consists of the sole partner and 6 members of staff part time and full time, office and home based.

Main description
Working within a small and friendly team, the role will be a mixture of office administration and client work, with a focus on bookkeeping and payroll.
The job will include both on-site and day-release training, working with and reporting to other members of staff.
- Data Entry
- VAT returns
- Bookkeeping
- Communication with clients via letter, email, or phone
- Onboarding clients to cloud software
- Training clients on cloud software
- Reviewing client cloud software prior to preparation of year end accounts and/or tax returns
Entry requirements
Grade C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent - minimum

Training to be Provided
Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 AAT Level 2
Things to consider
There will be elements of the role which are repetitive but still require concentration to ensure the work is done accurately. December and January are the busiest time of the year for the industry and therefore the only holiday allowed in these months are the days between Christmas and New Year. The role will be office based and given the level of training required, it is not practical for this role to be working from home.
Future Prospects
The right candidate will be fully trained in QuickBooks and Xero and become our go to person for our cloud software and will manage clients moving on to software for Making Tax Digital for Self-Assessment in a couple of years’ time.
