We are seeking an enthusiastic, methodical, motivated individual to continue the successful development of the company. This is an opportunity to join a forward thinking company in this new role, to work on all aspects of accountancy. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, enthusiastic and most importantly, will take pride in their work.

Main duties include:

  • To assist in the everyday running of the finance office- keeping records updated and to become confident in using accounts software
  • To provide financial support to the Financial Director
  • Receiving calls that are of finance relevance and ensuring that messages are passed on or dealt with
  • Carrying out financial tasks, including processing, posting and updating the accounts software, to making sure papers are correctly filed and up to date
  • Learning sales and purchase ledger work
  • Learning to reconcile bank accounts and company cards
  • Learning management accounts work to include prepayments and accruals, VAT returns and budgets
  • Learning credit control
  • Learning Sage 200 and Sage CRM.

You will also need to have:

  • Great analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of MS Office is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
  • Strong communication and written skills

Working week
Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8:45 to 17:00. 45 minute break (unpaid) per day.

Total hours per week: 37.50
Expected duration 18 months
Possible start date - 01 Sep 2022

Things to consider
The Finance team is a small team; therefore, flexibility and good communication is essential.

Due to our location, having your own transport would ideally be required as public transport would not be an option.

Desired qualifications

Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths or GCSE, or equivalents, Grade 2/ E is preferable. If not, learners will be required to attend additional sessions.
