12 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship
We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration Apprenticeship Programme within the duration of the placement.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a designated heart attack centre for the East of England serving around 1 million of the population of Norfolk, Great Yarmouth, Waveney and parts of North Suffolk.
Thousands of patients are seen yearly by the consultant cardiologists with a variety of problems including palpitations, angina, heart failure, narrowed or leaky valves, blackouts, mumurs etc.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to work at the Cardiology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital as an Administrative Apprentice.
As post holder you will act as a point of contact for communications from patients, relatives, all hospital staff, community staff and outside agencies to the Cardiology team, whilst maintaining a close working relationship at all times.
You will provide an effective administration service which supports a prompt response for interventions and continuity of care for all service users.
You will also respond to telephone queries, book appointments and undertake reception duties. You will be able to work as part of a team using your own initiative where necessary. You will also have strong communication skills, and an excellent telephone manner.
All applicants must be:
- Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
- Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
- Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Good general standard of education
- 4 GCSE’s at Grade C/D or above (or equivalent) PLEASE CHECK JD to confirm
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills
