About the employer
The Theatre Royal Surgery team takes pride in offering the highest standard of patient centred healthcare.

We offer clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations as well as online access enabling patients to book certain types of appointment and order repeat medication. Theatre Royal Surgery is a teaching practice and works with the UEA Medical School providing tuition to first year medical students.


Working week
Monday - Friday, 08.00am- 5.00pm. Total hours per week: 40.00

Desired qualifications

  • Good general standard of education (4GCSE’S A-C/9-4) English qualification GCSE grade ‘C/4’ or above OR predicted English GCSE grade ‘C/4’ or above OR equivalent
  • Must be willing to undertake and successfully complete minimum Level 3 Apprenticeship within the 18 month contract of employment


The successful applicant will be required to work as a key member of our staff on a variety of administrative tasks. We need an individual who is motivated, can demonstrate initiative and attention to detail and who is prepared to listen and learn. In return we can offer you comprehensive training, a pleasant working environment and the opportunity to be part of a team that values excellent patient service.

Daily duties will include:

  • Make telephone calls at the request of the doctors
  • Make appointments on the computer system
  • Assist with electronic scanning and processing of incoming post
  • Photocopy patient records for solicitor’s reports
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Ensure reception waiting areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Other duties that may be assigned form time to time
  • Input information & data on to patient’s computer records in accordance with practice protocols
  • Printing off practice leaflets as requested
  • Prepare daily visit lists and necessary patient summaries
