West Suffolk College is seeking an Apprentice Finance Assistant to help members of the team in their financial duties including the administration of the Discretionary Learner Support Fund, entering purchase ledger invoices and journal entries onto SAGE.

The following duties are not shown in order of priority or frequency, nor is the list comprehensive, but rather an indication of the type of level of duties expected of the post:-
Main duties to include:
•Collect and distribute the departmental post.
•Process College Cheque requisitions into cheque payments arranging for appropriate authorisation.
•Provide cover for Cashier and Finance Team as required.
•Maintain the departmental credit card refund spreadsheet.
•Enter Purchase Ledger invoices and journal entries onto SAGE.
•Process monthly College recharge forms.
•Processing and entering transactions on the Cashbook.
•Mark new fixed assets with College asset tags and participate in periodic asset audits.
•Scan asset disposal and new fixed asset forms and save them onto Staffnet.
•Print labels for Finance Department files.
•Send out expenditure transaction listings to outstations at the end of each month.
•Assist other members of the team during busy periods including archiving.
•Help in the administration of the Discretionary Learner Support Fund.
•Process invoices for equipment, books and uniform.
•Help process monthly payments for awards.
•Answer telephone & email queries.
•Filing.
•Checking of data input into systems and the input of data itself.
•Complete returns to the national statistics office as required.
•Working within the finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance.
