Surwood Construction Ltd has been established within the industry for over 20 years by the current directors. We have a proven track record of finding, developing and progressing people, particularly apprentices. We are based in Norwich and work in East Anglia with principal contractors and their clients on varied construction projects. We offer a platform for all employees to progress and work to their strengths whilst aligning these strengths with company requirements. We pride ourselves on retaining a large proportion of our employees.


Working week
Monday – Friday, 7.30 – 5.00. Total hours per week: 40.00
Expected duration
2 years


Duties will involve:  

  • Installation of a range of groundworks materials and associated equipment and installation of temporary works items
  • Installation, maintenance and removal of temporary safety barriers, including any signage and/or lighting
  • Operate tools, equipment and machinery in a safe manner
  •  Attend college on a day release basis and undertake any additional training as requested.  Take part in the apprentice review process
  • Follow Health & Safety policy and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) where needed
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers and managers
  • To work alongside our skilled workforce to gain experience in groundworks
  • You will be actively working on the commercial and light industrial sites under close supervision of our workforce
  • You will be expected to have an understanding and appreciation of working with other trades and with other contractors on site.  We will provide a basic tool kit
