**14 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship**

Are you a motivated individual seeking a challenging apprenticeship? The award-winning Endoscopy Unit here at NNUH is seeking Apprentice Healthcare Assistants to join their expanding team.

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard within the duration of the placement.

We are looking to employ a highly motivated individual who will support us to provide excellent care to the patients who visit our unit. The Endoscopy Unit at NNUH is the largest in the UK and operates Monday to Friday 8am-6pm. Endoscopy has benefited from a huge investment with the construction of the state of the art Quadram Institute on site at NNUH. We can now carry out 40,000 procedures each year making NNUH home to the largest Endoscopy Unit in Europe. We are a large and dynamic department, treating more than 28,000 patients in 2018. NNUH is also a centre for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programmes and we are a centre of excellence for endoscopy training, offering approved courses for doctors and nurses.

All applicants must be:

  • Aged 16+
  • Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
  • Must not have a qualification at the equivalent or above level in a similar subject (there needs to be significant new learning)
  • Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Good general standard of education
  • 4 GCSE’s at Grade D/3 or above (or equivalent)
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill
  • Good IT skills
