JEB Technologies Ltd are the leading manufacturer of precision components and assembled parts. Our current projects include Medical device design and manufacture, Munitions and Electrical components. The medical department designs and develops new and innovative medical devices from the concept stage through design, development, clinical trials, regulatory approval, manufacture and product launch.

Main description

JEB Technologies are the leading manufacturer of precision components and assembled parts. Our current projects include Medical device design and manufacture, Munitions and Electrical components. They have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the team.

Day to day duties include:

To train in all aspects of mechanical engineering
Using machine tools including milling machines, lathes and surface grinders.
Reading component drawings
Working to tight tolerances
Provide engineering support to manufacturing departments
Working closely with other apprentices, technicians and supervisory staff

Entry requirements

GCSEs in maths and English at grade 5-9 (C-A*) is essential.

Training to be Provided

Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship

Things to consider

The successful candidate we be working for an established engineering firm with 48 years history and a full order book. This is a technical role requiring good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight tolerances and deadlines. Candidates should be aware that there could be occasional overtime and potential for shift work. Candidates are responsible for arranging their own transport to both Mildenhall and Bury St Edmunds (West Suffolk College).

Future Prospects

Potential future roles with in JEB could include: Toolmaking, design, development, production, wire/spark erosion, CNC, technical sales and maintenance. There are also opportunities to work in the medical sector which could include the chance to work around the UK and abroad. Previous apprentices work throughout the group in senior, technical and management roles including the current Managing Director.
