An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Medical Directorate who are looking to recruit an Apprentice Health Care Assistants to work on their Older Peoples Medicine wards at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week. As an integral part of the ward team you will be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays, however there will be no night shifts involved with this role.
Fixed Term - 14 months.
You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 Clinical Healthcare Diploma Apprenticeship Programme within the duration of the placement.
The Apprentice will work under close supervision and will be expected to achieve competencies over a 14 month period to build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation. Under direction of the nursing team you will be expected to work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care. You will accurately and promptly carry out instructions of the registered nurse who is professionally accountable for delivery of care. Core duties are specified within the Trusts Approved core list for Healthcare assistants.
- All applicants must be:
- Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
- Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
- Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Good general standard of education
- 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (or equivalent)
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills
