Apprentice Quality Engineer

Position Summary

As an apprentice quality engineer, a portion of the job will revolve around inspection of the quality of manufactured goods coming in and out of the business. You will work to not only find defects, but also to find the cause of the defect and develop a solution. You will be trained and placed on the audit team to support internal audits. As part of the quality team you will be responsible for the maintenance and up keep of procedures and processes, as well as all documentation which encompasses this.

Performance Objectives and Responsibilities
·   Immediate Performance Objectives

Familiarization with quality department functions

Audit training

·   The Big-Picture/Strategic Deliverables

To fully support the expectation of the quality department

Regular quality inspection on goods in parts and internally produced components

·   Primary Responsibilities

Documentation and process ownership

Ownership of customer returned products


Language Requirements

•       Fluent English essential

Education Requirements

•       Strong written, verbal and numerical skills essential

•       STEM Subject taken during GCSE’s or A-levels

•       Must hold at least 5 GCSE’s and a grade C (or higher) in both Maths and English

Personal Requirements

•       Good eye for detail

•       Comfortable with data analysis

Experience Requirements

•       Basic Health and Safety knowledge

•       Practically Minded

•   Mobility & Travel Requirements

Occasional UK Travel – travel to other ESAB sites may be required
