Maintain CM Ltd is an engineering company that specialises in improving industry reliability. We utilise reliability and specialist condition monitoring techniques to be able to provide advice and reports on machine condition to make sure its equipment does not fail unexpectedly. We measure machine vibration, noise, temperature, and other methods to understand machine condition. As a company we advise on how industry can follow engineering best practice and maintain there plant reliability for continue operation. We also undertake engineering works such as bearing and motor changes/overhauls for our customers. Using Condition Monitoring we are able to detect in advance when a piece of machinery may fail we are then able to act upon this and complete the relevant engineering work. We would then analyse the failure mode to advise our customers how to prevent this happening again.
There is an opportunity for an apprentice engineer to join our team.
The role fits in our organisation, as we expand, to help engineering and industry achieve reliability excellence.
- Prepare and charge any specialist equipment prior to day’s work.
- Load relevant customer information into our vibration analyses.
- Attend the customer site.
- Liaise with customer and inspect all equipment and collect necessary data vibration, temperature etc.
- Analyse data and complete report and send to the customer.
- The above is a routine day but there will be other days where we may be completing a bearing change at a customer site.
During the apprenticeship most days will initially be together with a senior engineer. Once specific training in Vibration, Thermal is provided for our smaller customers we would expect the apprentice to attend these sites on there own once they feel comfortable doing so.
Maths and English grade 5-9 or A-C at GCSE is essential.
Proficient Use of Computer.
Customer Service Skills / Communication.
Good with Data and Maths/Physics.
Interest for Engineering.
Willing to work apart of a team.

Things to consider
The candidate must be willing to work away from home. The majority of work is in East Anglia but some of our customers are further afield. Being able to drive is a must and also being comfortable to travel to a customer site. Some weekend work may be required, its not very common and will be returned in lieu. Annual Salary for year 1 is £14,000, based on performance and progression / attendance, salary will increase to: Year 2 = £16k Year 3 = £18k Year 4 = £20k
There is opportunity for a full-time role with the business as a reliability engineer.
