Solstice is a multidisciplinary software consultancy specialising in bespoke web solutions for government and industry. Based in Suffolk we have a 15 year history of providing leading solutions through our hands-on developer-led service that allows all staff to fully engage with our local, national and international clients and the range of projects we support.
Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm. Total hours per week: 37.50
Working with our development teams you will begin in a technical support role gaining knowledge and understanding of our clients, their projects and the bespoke software solutions we provide.
Building on this experience you will progress to supporting developers on joint projects and delivering small developments independently. Projects may be new builds working from initial requirements or the expansion and modification of existing solutions.
Developments will be undertaken primarily in a net environment, but also in a range of open source frameworks where required on a project-by-project basis. The ability to rapidly learn new skills and technologies is therefore essential. The role will encompass the following activities:
- Communicating directly with clients and representing Solstice
- Writing well-structured code
- System and database design
- Working to schedules and project milestones
- Taking customer support calls and working to diagnose and resolve issues
- Supporting all stages of project life cycle from concept to on-going support
- Producing clear technical documentation
