Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm with one hour for lunch. Total hours per week: 40.0
What you will do in your working day
On a day-to-day basis you will work with your mentor. Initially shadowing them but as you learn and develop skills you will be able to complete certain tasks yourself. You will be training on up-to-the-minute products, such as the ecoTEC whisper diesels and Turbo petrol engines, designed to offer the highest MPG and the lowest emissions. Vehicles that have the latest technology that can read out your texts, project your phone’s apps to the IntelliLink screen and are their own WiFi hotspots.
The training you will be getting
The Apprentice Technician programme is a comprehensive 3-year programme designed and delivered by Vauxhall. You will work towards your NVQ level 2 and 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair through a combination of attending the Vauxhall Training Centre in Doncaster on block release placements for one week at a time, work-based learning and regular visits at the dealership by a Vauxhall trainer.

As well as gaining practical work experience you will be studying for a nationally recognised qualification.
