Creative Nation are now delivering Bfi film academy courses for young people aged between 16 and 19 years in Norfolk & Suffolk.

Applications for our 2018 & 2019 courses in Ipswich and Norwich are open now.

Each course takes a hands-on approach to filmmaking through a combination of workshops and practical skills development. Finally, after an action-packed week, the cast and crew, friends and family are invited to enjoy a premiere of the completed films. Participants also have the opportunity to gain their Arts Award.

IPSWICH

Dates: October half term. 22nd to 27th October 2018.
Course hours: 10am to 5pm.
Location: A central Ipswich location.
Applications close: Noon Friday 5th October 2018.

This course has been especially designed for young people with little or no film making experience. High mentor: young film maker ratio means there are very limited places available for this fast - paced, fun and practical film challenge. Working with our award-winning industry professionals, on our 6day film school you will embark on a whistle-stop tour of film - writing, editing, camerawork and even special effects!

NORWICH

Dates: February half term. 16th to 22nd February 2019.
Course hours: 10am to 5pm.
Location: A central Norwich location.
Applications close: Noon Friday 4th January 2019.

Designed for young people with some experience and a demonstrable interest in film, this course takes a hands-on approach to filmmaking through a combination of workshops and practical skills development using industry standard equipment. You will enjoy masterclasses by key industry figures, receive bespoke careers advice and will be guided through the production of a film as part of a crew.

For schools, colleges and youth groups - our recruitment team can offer a range of ways to support young people to find out about and apply to the BFI Film Academy. These include “meet and greet” sessions; assemblies; support to complete application forms during tutor time or taster sessions. We can also supply print and/or e-flyers for use on school websites or plasma screens.
