Employer Description
Sackers are a scrap metal and waste recycling centre. We have one of the biggest metal shredders in East Anglia. Our waste collections for commercial businesses and skip hire for domestic and commercial customers. We process the scrap at and waste and sell it to international markets, mainly China and India and we are expanding into new markets. We are one of the largest exporters through Felixstowe in the region. With £35m turnover with 64 employees we are based near Ipswich, Suffolk.
Main description
Sackers Ltd are a scrap metal and waste recycling centre. They have one of the biggest metal shredders in East Anglia. Our waste collections for commercial businesses and skip hire for domestic and commercial customers. There is an opportunity for two Administration Apprentices to join the team.
The role is an integral part of the business at both sites which involves:
Portraying a positive image of the company in a professional manner at all times.
Serving customers, drivers and contractors upon arrival and when leaving.
Dealing with customer queries in a timely manner (telephone, face to face, or email).
General weighbridge admin work.
Answering phone calls.
Any other duties.
Entry requirements
GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in maths and English, or equivalent.
Skills required
IT literate with good Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent and confident communication skills both written and face to face.
Articulate with a good standard of written and spoken English.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Being able to work in a team.
Personal qualities
Good communication and people skills is essential.
Training to be Provided
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship
Things to consider
There may be Saturday working occasionally until 12:30pm.
Future Prospects
This role can lead to either a buyer role for the business, or an account manager role.
