We provide full training, along with three shadow shifts, Flexible working hours, free uniform mileage and travel time, and a free DBS. We pay all our staff a fair rate so your students would get £9.50/10.00ph – working times, £9.50ph traveling times and 35p per mileage from their first call. We paid slightly more for weekend cover.

Role purpose:

Reporting to the Deputy Care Manager, the Care Representative is responsible for ensuring a high level of care is provided to our Clients and meets the code of conduct and company procedures.

Duties

To work with clients to ensure quality care is tailored to Clients’ needs and delivered efficiently in a manner that reflects the values of Kirsten’s Care and our Home Care service

Provide high standards of personal care including health care tasks (according to experience and skill level), whilst maintaining Clients’ dignity and independence at all times.

Assist Clients with mobility, nutritional, social and well-being needs.

Ensure strict adherence to Kirsten’s Care Ltd policies and procedures with special regard to safeguarding, manual handling and health & safety.

Uphold confidentiality of clients’ information at all times and to maintain Clients’ individual records/care plans.

Main Tasks

Care and well-being

Undertake dynamic risk assessments within Clients’ homes.

Assist with personal care tasks such as hygiene, dressing/undressing, getting in and out of bed, going to the toilet, emptying commodes, shaving, denture care, skin inspections

Provide health related care to clients - facilitate and administer medication. Undertake tasks such as checking blood pressure levels; changing simple dressings (with the agreement of the District Nurse community team); administering ear and eye drops; (according to experience and skill level).

Give emotional support to Clients and Clients’ families and friends when necessary.

Encourage and facilitate social, cultural and spiritual activities. Including helping to run coffee mornings and fund-raising social events for clients and their families.

Use intuition and initiative to suggest new activities to suit Clients’ interests and needs.

Assist Clients with meal preparation, eating and drinking; advise on nutrition as appropriate as advised by the SALT team

Carry out general household cleaning and bed linen changing and/or support Clients to undertake cleaning - for example when this has been agreed for therapeutic or wellbeing purposes.

Ensure all relevant information is passed on to the Registered Manager/ Deputy Manager or passed on to medical professionals etc as advised by the Lead Senior Carer or Registered Manager.

Monitoring and record keeping

Record details of care as appropriate.

Report any changes in Clients’ conditions or general welfare.

Ensure information received is read and acted on concerning events from previous care given.

Ensure effective communication between team members by keeping accurate records, including entries in communications books/notes.

General

Accompany Clients to a range of appointments including shopping, health/hospital appointments, visiting places of interest etc.

In the event of an emergency or death of a client, follow the agreed procedure.

React promptly to emergency situations and provide all reasonable practical means of support.

As the service expands, there may be a requirement to undertake waking and sleeping night shifts as and when required

Attend staff meetings on a regular basis

The Care Representative will support the Deputy Care Manager providing care to our clients ensuring the highest standards are achieved in all areas of the company including person centred care, lifestyle choices and dementia care.

Hours of work:

This is a seven day service which is available between 7.00 am – 9.30 pm. Carers will work within the Home Care Workers’ rota, tailored to hours of work and customer needs.
