About the employer
The construction and property services industry has never been more inspiring and dynamic. We’re looking for equally inspiring and dynamic people to be part of its future… and ours. We are part of Royal BAM Group, employing 22,000 people in 30 countries around the world. One of the larger construction and property services companies, BAM stands out as being rather different. The difference is our people and that’s why #BuildingFutureStars is one of our top priorities.
Monday-Friday (between 7.30 - 6.00pm) - Total hours per week: 40.00
So, you’re interested in becoming a Construction Apprentice?
You may not have the experience yet, but you want to earn as you learn, so why not give your career a start and join BAM’s Apprenticeship Programme?
Opportunities will be available in all of our 6 regions: Western, London, South East, Midlands, North East and North West.
With this apprenticeship, you can complete a Level 4 qualification in Construction, whilst working with our BAM Construction team!
This is a two-year Apprenticeship, providing you with experience in all areas of Construction. Once complete, you will then progress onto a Level 6 (degree) in your chosen speciality, lasting 3 years.
The programme is delivered in what we call ‘block release’, which means you get the best of both worlds – a taste of university life and work! Each block typically lasts four weeks and you will attend a minimum of two blocks per academic year. During each block, you will live in student accommodation, close to Stephenson College, our designated Apprentice training provider.
Our selected student accommodation is based between Nottingham and Loughborough, both of which are thriving University towns. When not on a block, you will be back on site, working Monday-Friday and collecting evidence for your qualification.
Successful candidates will be based on our live construction sites and will work with the site management team to ensure the projects are completed safely, on time, on budget and to the correct specifications. We build, refurbish and extend buildings from our network of offices across England, Scotland and Wales.
With our strong regional presence, we’ve developed working partnerships with our customers, consultants, supply chain and local communities that are built to last. In practice that means being inclusive, proactive, open and collaborative.
As an Apprentice you will:
- Assist colleagues, as required, with providing effective engineering solutions
- Work on sites alongside other engineers, applying knowledge and increasing skill-base
- Providing assistance to management team, in liaison with safety, quality, commercial and estimating departments
- Production of simple contract reports (writing and compilation of reports)
- Ensure required site outputs and reports are produced (progress/safety/commercial/quality)
- General administration support to engineers
The closing date for this job offer is on 31/12/2018
