The Business 
Affinity is a line of business (LOB) within Corporate Risk & Broking (CRB) that supports clients to develop ancillary revenues through targeted solutions that help reduce costs, create differentiation, and improve customer retention and satisfaction rates. This is a high focus area of the Willis Towers Watson business with huge potential and challenging targets. 

Currently Affinity is delivered through a variety of platforms and solutions. A key part of the role is aggregating data from our bespoke, proprietary system, Affinity Technology Platform (ATP), and other Affinity legacy systems to provide insights into consumer behaviours that will help us tailor the solution to provide more value for our clients. In addition to this, the development of advanced analytics and reporting capabilities will make it easy for our clients to have complete transparency and control over their Affinity programmes. The Data Analyst will also be involved in the creation of internal performance dashboards, working within our Data Scrum Team and analysing how best utilise the Willis Towers Watson data stores and supporting the core teams in analysis covering for example: financial i.e. investment returns, and prospect performance reporting.

Reporting directly to the Head of Data & Analytics, this is a role for a personable, high energy Data Analyst, with strong data analysis skills and excellent interpersonal skills. This role requires the candidate to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across geographies – Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America – in a matrix environment.The Role

Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship Programme

The Data Analyst is required to perform the following:

  • Identify, collect and migrate data to/from a range of internal and external systems
  • Manipulate and link different data sets as required
  • Interpret and apply the organisations data and information security standards, policies and procedures to data management activities
  • Collect and compile data from different sources
  • Perform database queries across multiple tables to extract data for analysis
  • Perform routine statistical analyses and ad-hoc queries
  • Use a range of analytical techniques such as data mining, time series forecasting and modelling techniques to identify and predict trends and patterns in data
  • Assist production of performance dashboards and reports
  • Assist with data quality checking and cleansing
  • Apply the tools and techniques for data analysis, data visualisation and presentation
  • Assist with the production of a range of ad-hoc and standard data analysis reports
  • Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders making recommendations
  • Works with the organisation’s data architecture

Training & Qualifications 

This Apprenticeship is a 24 month programme where you will be provided on the job training and a highly competitive study support package for the Project Management qualification. You will be fully supported by Willis Towers Watson and our official government approved Training Provider throughout the duration of the programme.

  • 3 A-Levels or equivalent qualifications, including a numerical based subject such as Maths or Economics
  • Logical and creative thinking skills
