Saxon Dental Practice is a independent NHS/Private Dental Practice with 4 Surgeries in Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds is a Dentist specialising in the provision of services relating to diagnostic and screening procedures, services for everyone, surgical procedures and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. They are currently looking for a Dental Nurse apprentice to join their team.
Main description
The learner will be required to assist dentists and hygienists with:
- Dental procedures
- Decontamination room assistance
- Ensuring infection control policies are adhered to
- Reception work
A caring individual with the ability to show empathy and confidence as well as being well presented and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn are all desirable attributes of the potential candidate.
Entry requirements
Maths and English GCSE 4 or above essential.

Training to be Provided
The learner will be studying the Dental nurse (integrated) Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day release to West Suffolk College.
Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to consider
Applicant will need to have been inoculated for Hepatitis B, will need to demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative, be able to commit to study towards their diploma in dental nursing. Be flexible with hours .
Future Prospects
Qualified Dental Nurse, possible progression to Hygienist/Therapist, and attend additional courses to become a radiographer.
