We are a leading supplier of fresh meat products to well-known supermarkets and retailers across the UK. It is a large site employing approxmately 1200 people, with three primary areas:
- Abattoir
- Butchery department
- Retail packing department
This vacancy will support all areas of the factory and therefore it is important to be aware of the different environments detailed above.
Main description
We are passionate about producing only the best quality food, efficiently and sustainably in well invested facilities across the UK. Watton is their dedicated processing facility in Norfolk, producing fresh pork, sausages and added value meal solutions. Company employs around 1,200 employees.
- Rapid response to machinery breakdown
- Monitoring the performance of key service and plant equipment
- Planned maintenance on service and plant equipment
- Fault diagnostics of all key equipment
Entry requirements
GCSEs grade 9-5 (A to C); including Maths, English and a science subject, Minimum: grade 9-5 (A to C) or functional skills level 2 in Maths and English.

Training to be Provided
Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 - This is a 3–4-year programme (based on progression) which includes 40 hours per week with one day release a week for college attendance at West Suffolk College.
Things to consider
Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Standard qualification on completion of the apprenticeship, with opportunities for further training progression -
