Working to a high standard under the direction of the Senior Gardener, the successful candidate will assist with the day to day maintenance of the grounds within the park.
We are looking for a gardener who has at least two years’ experience in a similar role, or within the horticultural industry. The successful applicant will be confident in using a wide range of equipment, including hedgecutters, mowers, strimmers, and a large tractor; qualifications in basic chainsaw use and PA1 and PA6 spraying would be ideal but training can be given for the right candidate. We are looking for a team player with a hands-on approach, who is able to work unsupervised if required.
The busy gardening team play an essential role in the presentation of Africa Alive! And help to maintain its status as one of East Anglia’s top visitor attractions. This is a full-time, permanent position, Salary £16,500 per year, average of 40 hours a week although extra hours may be required during the summer months.
