Haverhill Town Council (established in 1989) employs approximately 50 staff and provides the community of Haverhill with the best in local arts and leisure and is committed to obtaining the best services and facilities for the town.
We manage the Zone which is a newly acquired building that includes a children’s soft play area, a youth hub and training rooms.
We are also responsible for the management of the Haverhill Arts Centre and organising other outdoor events such as the Fireworks, Christmas Lights, Halloween Trail and the Summer Festival.
We also deliver the Youth Strategy in the town.
The hours will be spread across the entire week including weekends and evening work. Shifts to be confirmed. Total hours per week: 37.50
The hospitality apprentice place of work will be between the Art Centre and The Zone. It will be a full-time post of 37.5 hours. There will be a monthly rota supplied listing what days and hours are to be worked.
The role will cover the cafés both at the Arts Centre and the Zone, bar area, box office/reception and the main hall for the ushering for shows and cinema. It will include working alongside other team members in the play area, reception at the Zone and will include covering some of the out-door events of which there are up to 15 in a year. The role is varied and although the hospitality apprentice may specialise in an area, they must be adaptable and ready to support team members depending on the needs of the business.
Specialist areas in hospitality will include food and beverage service, serving alcoholic beverages, barista, food preparation, housekeeping, ushering, reception/box office. The most important part of the role is developing fantastic ‘hospitality’ skills and recognising customer needs and meeting them. You and the team will ensure that every customer is looked after to the highest of standards.
