Industry Insight staff placements: Employers - can you help?

22nd October 2019

AELP is looking for support in regards to T level Industry Insight staff placements; specifically, for the opportunity for teachers and training providers to visit employers involved in delivering:

  • Digital and technology
  • Construction
  • Education and childcare
  • Health and Science

Industry Insight staff placements are for teachers and educational providers preparing for delivery of the new T levels from September 2020.  The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) have commissioned AELP to develop a high quality offer that gives employers and providers the chance to work together in a two way exchange - building relationships, experience and expertise and encouraging joint planning of curriculum to better suit the needs of employers themselves. We are therefore looking for employers that are prepared to offer either one, two, three or five days’ work placements for staff to attend and improve their knowledge of specialist fields – or even just to share your experience at a half-day workshop!

There have been a large number of applications from teachers and trainers all over the country for different types of work placements, demonstrating a firm belief across the sector that T levels will be a strong and effective way to upskill new recruits to the workforce by giving hands on experience in the workplace and a clear line of sight of between what is taught and the real world of work.  It also gives the opportunity for teachers to communicate with their learners what employers are saying about the skills they want and value, meaning young people will be better prepared for the world of work when they apply to join your workforce.

We very much hope you will be able to help us in offering placements to teachers and trainers, and by doing so play a part in shaping an important new part of the development of skills in young people across the country.
