1.To undertake IT Helpdesk reception duties by phone, email, through the request tracking system as well as in person when stationed in front-facing environments and locations.
2.To ensure that all tasks allocated to the role holder are acted upon, with appropriate updates and actions recorded on the request management system.
3.To conduct basic hardware, software and user troubleshooting processes to analyse issues, and resolve, or to escalate to the appropriate more senior party within the team or other department.
4.To assist with data entry tasks including ordering, asset tracking, software and hardware audits, and other administrative systems used by IT Services when required.
5.To assist with ordering of replacement, spares, new equipment and obtaining quotes as requested by the Director of IT Services.
6.To install hardware, software and other IT related equipment as supervised.
7.To develop competencies in Windows 7 and 10, Office 2013 and 2016, Networking, Wireless, software/hardware updates and installation suitable for a large scale environment such as the College.
8.To develop competencies in specific allocated areas of the College with particular requirements or applications such as Online Exams, Engineering etc. as requested by the Director of IT Services.
9.To take part in large-scale projects such as a planned migration to Windows 10 across College.
10.To ensure and maintain confidentiality within the working environment at all times.
11.To maintain attention to detail and efficiency within the work you are required to do.
12.To undertake compensated out-of-hours work on occasion when circumstances require for example to provide IT cover for Open Events, Online Exams or on Saturdays for important system upgrades.
13.To ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
1.To work as a member of a team when required in support of shared objectives, including routine tasks associated with the regular upkeep of working areas.
2.To ensure compliance with statutory regulations and to be fully conversant with specific regulations applicable to individual areas.
