Haltermann Carless is a leading international supplier of high-value hydrocarbon-based specialty products and solvents and a brand of HCS Group. Harwich Manufacturing center is an upper tier COMAH site employing over 100 staff. They have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join the team.

An enthusiastic individual is required to work within the Performance Fuels Team at the Harwich Laboratory. Reporting directly to the Development Manager Performance Fuels, you will play a key role in performing Quality Control tasks for finished Performance Fuel products, including Race Fuels, Reference Fuels and Aviation Fuels. Tasks to include (but not limited to)

In- house testing using a variety of analytical methods
Liaising with external test houses
Releasing product in a timely manner with the generation of a certificate of analysis
Monitoring the quality of stored product in accordance with Quality Procedures.

Entry requirements
GCSE Grade 5 and above in Maths, English, Science/Chemistry, or equivalent.
ICT is desirable.

IT Literate ( desirable)
Must have an eye for detail

Full Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Level 3 Apprenticeship

Things to consider
The role is varied and will encompass both practical elements and desk based IT elements. You will be required to communicate effectively across all departments as well as with external parties such as contract test houses. There will be opportunity for training and broadening of knowledge and expertise with external parties as well as with our colleagues at our sister site in Hamburg, Germany.

What Next?
Team structure includes Development Chemists and Senior Development Chemists. This allows for possible progression when suitably qualified and experienced.
