Fitness and Leisure Apprentice –Hadleigh Pool and Leisure – Hourly rate £6.40
(Wage increases to National Minimum wage in the 2nd year of service)
This role is temporary for up to 18 months to complete your Apprenticeship
Abbeycroft is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as an Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and qualifications in all areas of Leisure. You will join our team working in all areas of the business. Lifeguarding, Fitness instructor, Reception and Swim teaching. This will include the NPLQ lifeguard qualification, STA award in Swim teaching and a NVQ with YMCA that includes the Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification. All alongside gaining valuable experience, and making an impact on our members’ fitness journeys.
35 hours per week
Monday 7:30-14:30
Tuesday 10:30-18:00
Wednesday 7:30-15:00
Thursday 13:30-21:30
Friday 9:00-16:30

Key Responsibilities:
• Performing Lifeguarding duties one shift per week
• Supporting members in achieving their fitness, health and wellness goals
• Collaborating with the fitness team, Reception team, Swim teaching team and Lifeguarding team. Opportunities into management training.
• Working with the team to maintained to a high standard of cleaning.
• Providing excellent customer service to all members/customers
• Conducting tours of the facilities to new and current members/customers as well as advising what Abbeycroft can offer them.
• Assist with admin tasks and projects.
• Commitment to studying within this role and completing assignments/projects on time
Requirements:
• Responsible individual with a passion for working in leisure, health, and well-being.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to keep on track with Studying and completing this apprenticeship
• Competent swimmer with a good level of swimming fitness.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Grade C/Level 4 in English and Maths GCSE’s or Level 2 functional skills
Due to Apprenticeship funding, you must hold the right to work in the UK or have held the right to work in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to starting this apprenticeship.
