Main description
Glazing Vision Limited is currently looking for a Machinist apprentice to join their team. They are looking for a an individual who has a positive approach to learning and developing skills and knowledge, and has skills and attitude to cope with changes, difficulties, pressure.
Main Duties Include:
To support machining and assembly requirements for both NPD activities and Factory support through Works Orders and direct involvement with the NPD/Bespoke teams.
To become a skilled user of manual milling, turning, drilling, CNC Milling, hand fitting and assembly.
Taking responsibility for quality and delivery of components and products on time for others in the business.
To study for a Level 3 Machining course at an acceptable, local college. Or an alternative course that provides training for machining skills.
To become a skilled assembly engineer, assembling machined components to make mechanisms for rooflights.
To become familiar with H & S and operating procedures.
Working within the NPD department reporting to theDesign Manager
Entry requirements
5 GCSE’s or equivalent with Maths and English at grades 5 or above.

Training to be Provided
The learner will be studying the Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day release to the West Suffolk College.
Things to consider
Workshop based machining and assembly.
Future Prospects
The opportunity to progress onto production engineering or supervisory roles upon completion of the apprenticeship.
