Employer Description

Hatcher Components design and manufacture fibreglass components for the Haulage industry. There is an exciting opportunity for an engineering apprentice to join their team.

Main description 

To assist the design team with, but not limited to;

Measurement of assemblies
Data collection
Production of technical drawings
Production of technical instructions using MS Office
Preparation of vehicles & items for 3D scanning & scanning
3D Printing
Also learning an understanding of;

Hand fitting
Fibreglass laminating
Tool making (moulds)
Production techniques

Entry requirements

GCSE in Maths / Science / English at 5 (C) or above is essential.
Other relevant / applicable qualifications are desired.

Skills required

Hands on and practically minded but also technically capable
Good level of computer literacy

Personal qualities

Keen and willing to learn
Showing an interest in Engineering and associated technology
Showing a good attitude towards work and an aptitude for learning new skills

Training to be Provided

Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship

Things to consider

The role is primarily office / factory based with infrequent requirement for working off-site. Wage for ages 16 - 17 is £5.24 per hour. Wage for ages 18+ is £6.56 per hour.

Future Prospects

Upon satisfactory completion of the course a full time position will be available within a friendly and exciting environment.
