Social enterprise now UK’s largest of its kind
A social enterprise which provides affordable transport to hundreds of people has had a great start to the New Year becoming the largest of its kind in the UK.
Scoots Hire provides mopeds for people to travel to work, education and training or to enable people to be more independent. The organisation was launched in March 2017 and recent purchases has taken its fleet of mopeds, scooters & 125cc motorcycles up to 392 vehicles. It has now assisted more than six hundred people across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. 411 people in Norfolk, 130 in Suffolk, 59 in Cambridgeshire and 19 in Lincolnshire.
Barry Lynes, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Scoots Hire, said: “Our growth over the past 11 months has been extreme and demand for our service continues to grow. We are now the largest wheels to work organisation in the country both by the amount of vehicles we have available to hire and in the area we cover, which is in excess of 5,200 miles.
“We are very proud of our achievements in such a short space of time and it’s fantastic for us to be able to provide affordable transport to so many people.”
Scoots Hire, based in Dereham, Norfolk, It offers moped hire for as little as £5.00 per day, which includes fully comprehensive insurance, road tax, routine servicing and 24 hour breakdown cover. Vehicles are delivered directly to people and full training is provided close to their home.
