The 100th Air Refuelling Wing is RAF Mildenhall's current host wing and the only permanent U.S. air refuelling wing in the European theatre, activated here on February 1, 1992. The wing provides the critical air refuelling "bridge" that allows the Expeditionary Air Force to deploy around the globe on a moment's notice. The Bloody Hundredth is comprised of the 100th Maintenance Group, the 100th Mission Support Group, and the 100th Operations Group.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of lodging professionals at
the 100 Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom.

Main description

The purpose of this position is to operate a variety of motor vehicles with gross vehicle weight of up to 2,200 pounds
(1 tonne). Provided clean linen and removing dirty linen from the Lodging facilities on a daily basis.

This position is responsible to recycle dirty linen and cardboard and any other items deemed recyclable to the recycle
centers located at RAF Mildenhall. Seals clean linen in plastic bags by using heat sealer and maintains backup stock
for lodging facilities as required.

Experience Required

  • Basic skill in all facets of maneuvering and driving vehicles.
  • Must know the sizes and weights of vehicles and be able to judge overhead and side clearances, turning radius, and braking distances for vehicle safety.
  • Ability to load and arrange cargo.

Other Important Information

Hours of work: 08:00 - 16:00. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with
organization’s flexible working policies.

  • Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • May be assigned other duties that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the employee.
  • May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training. Position may be coded as mission essential.
  • A 6-month probationary period will be required.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.

Other relevant information

Physical Effort:

Light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate
hand and foot controls. Frequent handling of weighing up to 50 pounds. A pre-employment medical will be required
for this position.

Working conditions:

Work is mostly outside and in all kinds of weather. Exposed to dirt, fumes and the possibility
of cuts and bruises.

  • An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required for the position. CAT B
  • Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
  • Shift work may be required.
