Main description
The expectation of the Engineering Apprentice is to engage with the engineering team to carry out PPM tasks, make data driven improvements, carry out reactive maintenance and improve throughout.
Developing/showcasing engineering skills across a range of key competencies, these include electrical, mechanical, automation, fabrication and C.I.
Daily activities include:
- Planned maintenance
- Reactive maintenance
- H&S related improvements
- Using C.I Tools
- Cross departmental meetings
- Cost saving/ OEE Improvement projects
- Supporting coaching and upskilling on non engineering team members
- Record keeping - BRC compliance
Entry requirements
GCSE 5-9 In Maths, English and Science -Essential.

Training to be Provided
The learner will be studying the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to consider
Reactive work can be fast paced, and comes with a lot of pressure sometimes to keep the line running, Branston is made in a room that's often gets hot and does have a distinctive smell, it is worth seeing this for yourself to ensure its the right fit for you.
Future Prospects
Engineering shift lead, C.I, Engineering management, are some of the positions that may lead on upon completion of the apprenticeship.
