DAB Civil Engineering is a part of the DAB Group, which includes DAB Construction, Ruby Homes (E.A.) Ltd and DAB Scaffolding & Roofing. We specialise in ground-works and construction, carrying out multi-million pound contracts for external clients, as well as building and marketing our own housing developments. We directly employee around 20 staff, only a handful of which are office-based. Our office is based in Barking, near Needham Market and is a relaxed, but professional work environment.

Main description

DAB Civil Engineering is a part of the DAB Group. We specialise in ground-works and construction, carrying out multi-million pound contracts for external clients, as well as building and marketing our own housing developments. We employee around 20 staff, only a few are office-based. There is an opportunity for an apprentice to join the team.

DAB Group is an ever growing group of companies within the civil engineering and construction sector, looking to take on an enthusiastic Office Administrator. The vacancy offers a role to join a small but friendly and family like office team and to help with handling customer and client emails and phone calls on a daily basis, as well as filing both digital and physical documents.

Additional tasks for the role include:

Helping to manage DAB social media including DAB Group website and Ruby Homes website, adding new posts, uploading photos, managing the enquiry forms sent through to us from our website.
Managing resources on a weekly basis such as stationary stock, PPE stock etc.
Problem solving and assisting their colleagues on a day to day basis.

Entry requirements

Minimum 4 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths at grades 9- 4.

Skills required

Good time management and punctual
Able to use IT software such as Microsoft Excel, Word and able to create PDF documents.
Good organisation skills as this will be essential to organising files, documents and keeping log of customer phone calls and requests.

Eager to learn and take on responsibility
Good listener
Articulate and a confident speaker on the phone
Asks questions if unsure on a task
Enjoys being a part of a tightly knit team

Training to be Provided

Full Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship

Things to consider

This job will require someone who can adapt to taking on various responsibilities in their role and be able to manage emails and phone calls. A vast majority of the role will include admin duties such as filing and organising documents and files, both physical copies as well as digital. The role will include mostly computer work.

Future Prospects

We hope that this role will lead onto the candidate becoming a part of the work-family and will continue to learn and adapt in their role to take on further responsibilities and tasks. As experience and knowledge grows, they will hopefully become a vital part of the team within the office and will earn a salary to reflect their progress and responsibilities.
