Offshore Wind Sector jobs to treble

19th March 2019

Have you though about working out on the wind farms?  Crewing a service vessel or performing maintenance on the turbines?  If you live in Norfolk and Suffolk - perhaps you should!

Offshore Wind Sector jobs in the UK could treble to 27,000 by around 2030 due to the new Offshore Wind Sector Deal.

A £250 million investment into a growth partnership will support higher paid jobs and opportunities, contributing towards a goal of 30GW of generating capacity by 2030.

East Anglia already contributes over 50% of the UKs 7.5GW installed capacity, and some 6,000 of the jobs created will likely translate into well paid and skilled opportunities for people in Norfolk and Suffolk.  With the sector actively aiming to increase the number of women in the workforce to a third by 2030 as well, there's never been a better time for all young people to start exploring where a career in offshore wind and renewables could lead them.
