£3.70 per hour, £148 per week to start, reviews dependent on progress

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

This is an excellent opportunity to join a local company working with a team of qualified plasterers across Suffolk as a Plastering apprentice.  The job role will include working on building contracts and private domestic work, the tasks will include:-

  • Adhering to Health & Safety
  • Preparation work:
    • Taping up windows
    • Taping up window cills and doors
    • Covering working areas with plastic and tarpaulins prior to starting work
  • Assisting with internal and external rendering including K-rend and Weber Monocouche (coloured render), float and set, using sand, cement and lime mix
  • General labouring
  • Fixing plasterboard
  • Dot and dab systems
  • Skimming
  • Applying plaster to internal surfaces both solid and plasterboard
  • Lime plastering
  • Laying sand and cement screeds
  • Pebble dashing
  • Plastering over artex
  • Repairing or removal and replacing damaged ceilings
  • Cleaning buckets, tools and general working area at the end of the day
  • General site work
  • Keeping the workplace clean and tidy

This employer is looking to recruit and train an apprentice with a view to offering them a permanent role at the end of the apprenticeship.

Training to be given:

CSkills Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Construction) – Solid

CSkills Level 2 Diploma in Plastering (Construction)

Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English

This company have been trading 20 years and have extensive experience in a variety of different plastering techniques working to a high standard on a mix of large and small scale projects.  The company work in the Southwold/Aldeburgh/Suffolk Coastal areas/Diss/Halesworth/ Beccles and Bungay areas.

This apprenticeship will be based on different sites dependent on contracts.

No prior experience is needed, however, some labouring experience could be an advantage.

This apprenticeship would suit someone who is reliable, hardworking and looking to build a career in the Plastering industry. 

Qualification required: GCSE grade D/3 or above or equivalent qualifications.

This apprenticeship will involve working on different sites across the Southwold/Aldeburgh/Suffolk coastal areas, Diss/Halesworth/Beccles and Bungay areas.  The company’s yard is based in Yoxford and you will either be required to get to Yoxford each morning or there may be the possibility of a lift from the Loddon, Halesworth, Saxmundham, Leiston areas with other members of staff.  The apprenticeship will include day release training, this will be carried out with Construction Training Specialists Ltd at: North Suffolk Skills Centre, Harrisons Lane, Halesworth, Suffolk, IP19 8PY.  There is a train station nearby which is an 8 minute walk away.
