Recently launched social enterprise already supporting more than 200 people

26th July 2017

A new social enterprise that provides an affordable way to travel is already supporting more than 200 people across three counties.

Scoots Hire, which provides mopeds for people to travel to work, education and training or to provide independence. The organisation was launched in March and demands for its services have grown rapidly.

Barry Lynes, Head of Strategic Partnerships, said: “We always knew there was a demand for the services we provide and this has certainly turned out to be the case. We are already providing mopeds to more than 200 people across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and the demand is continuing to grow.

“We are providing a much needed service to many communities. There are many people who cannot afford or who do not have access to the transport they need to get to work, education facilities or to simply to have some form of independence. We are now improving the lives of many people by helping them to realise new opportunities.”

Scoots Hire, based in Dereham in Norfolk, offers moped rental for as little as £2.86 per day. The service offers 2017 Honda Vision 50cc, 110cc, PCX125’s & CB125F’s to ensure the best possible economy, safety and reliability. The hire rates include fully comprehensive insurance, road tax, routine servicing and 24 hour breakdown cover. Vehicles are delivered directly to people and full training can be provided close to their homes.
